Geelong
Geelong is Victoria’s largest regional city, with a population of over 200 000; it is less than an hour from Melbourne. Discovered in 1802, Geelong was declared a town in 1838. A vibrant shipping port, it flourished through trade during the gold rush with its wool, textile and farming industries. Tourism is now Geelong’s largest industry.
It is more than just the start of the Great Ocean Road, with attractions to discover, restaurants to sample and shopping to keep you coming back.
